Racing was delayed as a result of the bridge crew over indulging last night and being thrown into jail. Think like this . & o

The pin mark has been set and it looks like a 10 degree port bias. THe dial up begins and intimidation tactics from RCYC and ABYC seem to be bearing fruit with 4 minutes to go to the start

Go ABYC
12:52
One minute to go and the fleet is pretty evenly spread. ABYC have claimed the pin as their own and look as if they want to cross the fleet on port - risky but could pay off as the mid starboard side of the first beat looks like it has the most wind
12:53
There is the signal, damn the OCS flag is up - looks like two boats are OCS - Theewaters and RCYS, as both are coming back
12:54
Around the committee boat both go as the Round the ends flag was up. ABYC are steaming across the fleet on port, crash tack as they battle with knysna on port, the red protest flag goes up on Knysna as they have to change course to avoid a bashing.
12:55
The first leg takes the fleet up towards the harnour mouth, then a left up the coast and out to sea for the downwind run on this square course.

first three positions?
12:56
Theewaters recovered well, then Hudson on Greenlight, then ABYC with Kerry at the helm
12:57
Just over 500 metres to go to the first mark and the fleet settles into tthree distinct packs - 10 in the first pack who all went right, 20 in the second marching up the middle of the course  and the rest of the fleet who went left
12:59
Two tacks from the top three boats and Greenlight looks like they will be the first boat around, followed by ABYC then Greg and manne on the Theewaters entry
1:00
The spinnaker poles are out as they approach the mark, the reach is quite tight at around 40 degrees - let's hope they can carry their sopinnakers in the increasing breeze
1:01
First one around the top mark is Greenlight, spinnaker goes up quickly and cracks open, boat heeling, Dave gets control and they burst away from Greg and Kerry.
1:02
ABYC go wide to get above Greenlight - wonder if they have the speed to blanket Greenlight? Pole set a back, spinnaker up and the chase is on.
1:03
Theewaters have ......... touched the mark, 360 degree penalty, nice, no confusion, good pole control, pole back up, spinnaker races to the mast, crack and they are off aiming between Greenlight and ABYC
1:05
First race over. Positions as follows:

1. Theewaters
2. RCYC
3. ABYC

Come back in an hour's time for the next race.
